I have a non-mirror victory to share today. My husband and I have been grappling since we first met 19 years ago. What started off as two college students flirting, has turned into a good way to burn some energy wrestling.
I am 5’3 and 117lbs. My husband is 6’2 and more than twice my weight. Needless to say, any time I’ve ever won a wrestling match with him, it has been because he felt sorry for me or because I resorted to fighting dirty.
Today: I was finally victorious! My husband tried to collapse me using primarily his body weight (his go-to move), but was unable to. He was shocked by the resistance he met and even commented on how much stronger and harder to move I had become!
I even got in a couple of legitimate counter strikes. I ended the match with a strong elbow
that sent my husband crying like a little girl. I’m not saying I can take him, but I can definitely make him suffer a little.
Thanks to Aaptiv I am finally crossing over from skinny fat to skinny fit. It feels good to be strong!
Tonight I had 30 minutes before I had to leave the house, so I decided to squeeze in a quick workout. That is one of the many great things about Aaptiv- the ability to do workouts on the fly.
I opened the app and chose the first strength training workout. I didn’t even change into fitness wear. I wore my skinny jeans, jumped right in, and got it done. All while my kids ran circles around me.
Today’s workout was No Games Only Gains with Sultan. We did bicep curls, reverse rows, leg lifts, and more. I only used eight pound dumbbells because I didn’t have time to go searching for my ten pound weights. It was a doable workout, and I liked that it covered core as well as arms.
