How to remove gum from hair: peanut butter vs oil
I had the chance to remove gum from my toddler’s hair twice in the same week, so I thought I would post my results here.
The first time she put gum in her hair, we used oil to remove it. I had the gum out in just a few minutes, but quite a few strands of hair came out with it.
Yes, I know toddlers don’t need gum; Especially a toddler who has proven herself as a ruiner of hair. But when you have four children, the youngest gets to do things the oldest would never have dreamed of.
The second time around, I chose peanut butter. Peanut butter worked way better than oil. She lost less hair, and the gum came out of her hair faster.
So there you have it. Peanut butter wins, but both work. Either way, just put it on the gum and rub it in. Then pull the hair out of the gum a strand at a time until you are done.
Be a better parent than me. Don’t give gum to small children.
